Regent Park is located in central Toronto. The area extends from the corner of Parliament and Shuter Streets to the corner of Gerrard and River Streets. The area features residents from a wide array of backgrounds; it is estimated that over 60 different languages are spoken by residents of this neighbourhood. The area has undergone major revitalization, with a projected $1 billion dollars of investment being put towards infrastructure, community space and housing. It is just east of the downtown core and both the Don Valley Parkway and public transit are easily accessible. The area also features an Aquatic Centre, The Regent Park Community Centre and The Park Recreation Centre; all of which include top quality facilities such as swimming pools, a weight room, and a gymnasium. The neighbourhood is also home to 2 outdoor ice rinks, a baseball diamond and an array of small parks.
